GTFO OUR SEAS JAPAN.

...
Yeah I forgot what I was writing for a minute there :'D
ANYWAY.

So.
Who has riding phobias?
Obviously everyone. There's always one little thing that every rider has to fear. So...what's yours?
I thought we all needed a laugh, so here's mind xD
I am deathly afraid of riding on a lunge.
Even walking the horse on a lunge, with tack and over super soft grass. Even on a pony. I can't ride on a lunge because I cling to the horse and sometimes even start screaming :'D It's my biggest fear when it comes to riding. Tara helped discovered that one

I can't ride in a round yard/small area.
I get claustrophobia when riding in round yards. They scare the crap outta me, and I ride veeery stiff/rigid, and tend to squeeze the horse a lot, so it's not good for the horse, either.
And yet i'm not scared to jump bareback onto an unbroken, ill-mannered, 16hh thoroughbred that hates me.
Lol.
So...vote in the poll, and tell me - what's YOUR riding phobias?

I get that sometimes, too, but only on arabians

John 15:18-21.
My claustrophobic fears are just because i've only ridden on a lunge about 3 times before, and only twice in a round yard, but otherwise I ride in huge paddocks by myself or occasionally with ~Tara-Jade. I'de kill to be a part of a stable or something ):
Lol
Lolollol cantering up stairs xDD
When I went to Glenworth Valley I rode a little arab, but she had an awsome gait...except her trot was as fast as Tara's andalusian's canter, so when she cantered it was so fast and she broke into it so fast that unless you prepared for it you pretty much fell off
I did have a phobia for one horse, she was this really messed up arabian mare and I would never ride her even if I was supposed too, I don't know where that came from
Oooh maybe those gymkhana stuff, I used to ride this really sensitive horse and those games scared us both
I'm usually not scared around horses though

I guess I would have to say I'm afraid of going too fast. I'm terrified of a horse running away with me. I've never really had a horse get out of my control, but there were some scary times. They mostly came from jumping courses and having to jump courses that were going towards the barn. The horse I rode always used to speed up and get fast. I always got so scared that I would fall off.
So yeah. I struggled with fear several times. It caused me to take a break from riding twice for a couple months each time. I just so scared of jumping courses at more than a trot that it just made riding not fun anymore...
lolol. sensitive horses are AWSOME.
Fair enough, but once you've had a horse take off with you riding bareback with no bridle, but wearing a halter ( no lead rope, just a big old leather halter) and almost gallop into a fence, pivot like all hell and dive into a stable that's roof isn't at all high, you tend to not be afraid afterwards
Honestly, i've had horses take off with me so many times that I barely notice anymore
But that's because i'm a (now semi) self-taught rider, so I tend to have my heels in a bit too close to the horse ^^'
Horrible habit to try and break D:
That's sad D:
Have you ever ridden bareback? It gives a lot of confidence and teaches amazing balance, so you feel safer
